Poppy Appeal

After decades of dedicated service, Mrs June Hill is retiring from carrying out the house to house collection in Leighterton for the annual Poppy Appeal.  If anyone could take over collecting in Leighterton, or knows of anyone whom I could ask, please do let me know (tel. 01453 861583 or Sheila Hill).  The dates for this year’s collection are 28 October to 11 November.
Also, if anyone might like to take over from me as Poppy Appeal Organiser for Kingscote District (i.e. Kingscote, Bagpath, Lasborough, Leighterton and Calcot), I’d be happy to tell you what’s involved.  We collect around £800 a year, so it’s well worthwhile.

Friday 7th July – Summer Party

There was an error on the original email sent out regarding the summer party which was immediately amended but some people do not appear to have seen the amendment on the website.

The summer party is on FRIDAY 7TH JULY. Please let Pauline McTear know if you will be attending – important to know numbers in advance for catering purposes.

Summer Party – Friday 7th July

You are all warmly invited to Kingscote’s Summer Party on:

Friday 7th July
7pm to 11pm at the Village Hall

  • Hog Roast with Steel Band
  • Salads. Strawberries and Cream
  • Vegetarian option, but please mention that when booking.
  • Under cover if wet.
  • Tickets £8.00 per adult. £4.00 per child. Family Ticket £20.00.
  • Pay Bar

This should be a great evening with the steel band kindly offering their services.

Before we order the hog roast, we need to ensure we have sufficient numbers.
