We have started a private Facebook Group for Kingscote & Bagpath to support the community through Coronavirus/Covid-19 and the isolation many people may face.
If you have a Facebook account, click here and ask to join.
If you don’t yet have a Facebook account but would like one, register here and then search for https://www.facebook.com/groups/kingscoteandbagpath/.
If you don’t want to join the group, email with any requests.
From Monday 23 March, the NHS will contact anyone who is at particularly high risk of getting seriously ill with coronavirus. They will give specific advice about what to do.
If you have a neighbour or nearby villager who is 70+ or who has been asked to isolate for health reasons, do keep an eye out for them.
If you are 70+ or vulnerable and need assistance with a small supply of groceries, please email Alice and I will do what I can to help. Anyone who wishes to offer similar assistance should email me and I will coordinate.
During these unusual times, if you wish to have grocery orders prepared for collection or, in some cases delivered, the list of suppliers below may help.
Please email me with others you know are offering a collection and/or delivery service and I will update this list.
Takeaway Food
Don’t forget to try and support your local takeaways if you need a break from cooking; there are plenty in the area who could do with our help.

Message from Paula & Sean Pinkney:
We have just returned from Vietnam where we were quarantined from 7th March to 15th March because we were on the same boat as two couples who happened to be on the same plane from LHR to Hanoi as a Vietnamese woman who was infected with Covid-19. The plane landed on the 2nd March while we were holidaying in Cambodia. We were quarantined in a hotel room and tested for the virus on the 7th March – it was negative. We were also tested on the 13th March – again negative. We also had our temperatures taken twice a day – all ok. They released us with papers giving us the “all clear” on 15th March and took us to the airport where we returned home.
We are being extra cautious and going against what NHS 111 said, by self isolating till end of this week; NHS 111 said we could go about business as usual.
We will of course have to walk the dog so, if you see us out, don’t be alarmed but please keep at least 2 metres away from us. Apologies this morning for scaring anybody but Paula went out with her mask on (which she did not need to) because she’s anxious about the situation.

Unsurprisingly in view of the latest advice, Film Night on 24th March in the Village Hall has now been cancelled.
It’s intended that Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ will be shown at a later date.

Please note, there will be a private firework display on Friday 20th March by Coates Fireworks, around 8pm.

Apologies if some of you received multiple copies of a recent post – my error, not the website, and resolved now.

A rhinestone earring was found near the church 2-3 weeks ago.
The earring:
3 rows of rhinestones hanging from a large and a medium rhinestone. The two outer rhinestones are 5 rhinestones dangling with a big rhinestone in between, and the middle row has 6 rhinestones dangling with a bigger rhinestone at the bottom.
If you have lost this, please get in touch with Marlyn on 07870 589803 or email her here.
